Welcome to my first aesthetic post for ROAD TO EUGENICA, a story that started out as a novel written for my amazing niece. The pictures selected represent the heart of the story (as best as a few pictures can reflect the mood, tone, and theme of a three hundred page book J
This story is not just about seventeen-year-old Drea and her search to uncover who or what she truly is, but as the top photo represents, it’s about the fact we only have one Earth and we need to do better by it.
Eugenians are devastated that we, Stultus as they call us have been destroying the planet, and since we share it with them, if it dies so do they. They aren’t just going to sit back and watch that happen. The center photo depicts that interconnection and how what we do affects others.
Physically Drea looks like a normal teen, but her DNA has been enhanced through nanotechnology. The middle picture represents this. Her DNA allows her to be smarter and stronger than anyone, and when the virus that’s been repressing these abilities is compromised, Drea’s life tailspins.
A camera has always been Drea’s most prized accessory. Average in everything else, her passion for photography is only surpassed by the unrequited love for her best friend Dylan. He’s always been there for her, to comfort her when she is terrorized by the Green-eyed man (bottom right).
I hope you enjoy Drea’s epic adventure as she discovers her natural abilities and inner strength. I hope you enjoy ROAD TO EUGENICA.
*~~About the Author~~*
Currently, she lives in Houston, TX with her three boys (yes, her husband is in that count) and three cats. When she isn’t writing about swoony boys or ways for her MC to get into trouble, she is an avid reader, critiquer, (is that even a word?) and trampoline enthusiast.
A.M. Rose is a graduate from San Diego State University with a BA in Communication and a minor in underwater basket weaving. (Okay, maybe not the basket weaving part.)
Don’t forget to come back tomorrow to check out another enchantingly epic #EE18ers post! 😉
