BBCP16: Match Made in the Pages ~ Team Periwinkle!

Posted August 10, 2016 by Nori in My Features / 4 Comments

Welcome to my blog everyone! I’m so excited to finally kick off a summer filled with tons of Book Blogger Creativity Project 2016 posts! ICYMI: Here’s all the details on the project!

Today I am participating in the Match Made in the Pages feature organized by Team Periwinkle!

So what is Match Made in the Pages?
Well, let me start by saying that I absolutely LOVE this feature because it’s interactive. We’re counting on YOU to help make this work! You see, if you scroll down below, you’ll notice that I have a dating profile for one specific book character. Well, guess what? I need YOU to comment and give me suggestions as to what other book character should go on a blind date with my original character! The only catch? You have to pick a character from a different world. Then, you’ll have to come back next week, because I’ll be writing out how I think the blind date would go. This is going to be absolutely spectacular…I can’t wait!

Without further ado…it’s time to introduce…Lady Jane

Dating Profile

What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday?
Honestly, my favorite way to spend a Saturday is doing anything other than getting married. I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but I just found out that I’m supposed to marry Gifford Dudley this Saturday, yes, four days from now, and I’d rather not. After all, getting married would cause me to lose precious reading time.

Who is your best friend? What do you like about him/her?
Well, I can answer the first question, but the second question isn’t really applicable…You see…my best friends are all books. If I had to pick a person, it would be my cousin, King Edward of England.

What was your family like growing up?
My father always encouraged me to read and to learn as much as possible, but unfortunately he passed away. My mother? We don’t share the same interests. My loves include books and spending time outdoors. She prefers money and power.

What should I know about you that I’d never think to ask about?
I am very good at unknitting things. Yes, you read that correctly- UNKNITTING, not knitting.

Did you—or do you—have a nickname? What’s the story behind it?
Does “the book girl” count as a nickname? It’s pretty self explanatory.

What do you hate most about the dating process?
Dating process? Don’t you mean marriage process? My mother keeps arranging marriages for me. It’s quite annoying- I’ve already been engaged four times, and Gifford is my fifth.

Make sure to check out all of the Team Periwinkle’s posts and make suggestions for all of our characters’ future dates! Here’s the schedule:

  1. I haven’t read My Lady Jane, but this profile is adorable and makes me want to read it! For some reason, Nikolai from The Grisha pops into my mind. I feel like he’s intelligent enough to match her and she might find him fascinating (though I’m not sure how she’ll feel if he brings up his history as a pirate!)

  2. I love this post!!! How fun is this? Also, I am super excited to see you pick Jane. Hm, I would pair her up with Dorian from Throne of Glass. He’s also a bit of a book nerd and I think they’d have a fun time. But of course, I will always ship Jane and G.

  3. I LOVE this! And I love that you set it to four days before Jane’s marriage to Gifford, haha. I actually have to second Sarah because I think Dorian will be GREAT for her – he’s also very charming, he’s got a good sense of humour, and he’s quite the looker. 🙂

My second choice (if I’m allowed it) would be Prince Rhy from A Darker Shade of Magic, if you’ve read that series. He’ll probably scandalise her but I can’t help but to think she’ll be good for him.
