And…I’m back with another Novel Newcomer post! Yay! In case you’ve forgotten what NN is, you can check out all of the details HERE.

GUEST POST

By the time this post goes up, my blog Princessica of Books turned one yesterday. I decided it’s only best that I reflect and share all my “firsts” of blogging. I had to do a lot of snooping around for this!

First ARC:

Weird Girl and What’s His Name by Meagan Brothers; thanks so much for taking a chance on me Meagan! I, of course, did read this one and gave it 5/5 stars. (Oh my gosh, I’m linking up a very old review…)

First Meme:

The first meme I ever participated in was Flashback Friday, in which I highlighted an old favorite of mine. Even though I deleted the post, I remember that I did it on Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. I don’t think I’ll go back to this post but maybe I will gather some childhood favorites and share them with you all!

First Bloggers I Followed

  • Aentee @ Read At Midnight: I’m pretty sure her graphics is what hooked me. She recently celebrated her blogiversary as well & it’s been amazing to see her grow!
  • Jenna @ Reading with Jenna: Another AUS blogger who ALSO recently celebrated her blogiversary. Now she even blogs on Happy Indulgence!
  • Zoey @ Uncreatively Zoey: I remember I would bookmark a few of her posts because they inspired me so much! I can’t remember the specific posts though… I still do sometimes!
  • Fiction Fare: I’m not going to lie, I’m pretty sure I originally followed this blog because of all the giveaways. I’ve stuck around though because of how much content they provide & how much work I know goes into each post!

First Friend

Maybe I wrongly named this category, should’ve been most significant friend because I’m actually not sure if she was my first friend but she’s definitely the first I had a real, true, true connection with. Oh, I haven’t even said her name but it’s Lillie @ Little Lillie Reads! Genuinely, we are one and the same. I’m so grateful for her and I can honestly write and dedicate a whole post to her.

This was our first interaction on Twitter and it’s grown to so much more, I’m grateful.

First Tweet

First Blog Tour Group

Xpresso Reads! I still participate in a few promotions here and there, but my primary blog tour groups are Sunday Street Team (hosted by Nori!) and The Irish Banana’s tours.

First Mistake

Hah! So this is pretty awkward… Um, I’m kind of ashamed to admit but my first mistake had to do with ARCs. I would ask the AUTHOR for their ARC and I didn’t even provide stats. Even worse, I requested ARCs like one month into blogging. I didn’t start blogging for ARCs but I was quickly introduced to it and interested. I was horrible. But now I am so much better, I promise! It’s crazy how much I improved in that field. Lesson of this story: it’s embarrassing and don’t be me.

So those are just some of the firsts I’ve had! Can you remember your firsts?

Meet the Blogger:

http-2f2fprincessicaofbooks-wordpress-com1
Jess is your local blogger, bibliophile, feminist, and a future cat-lady. She enjoys supporting her local library and absolutely adores indie bookstores. When she is not reading or doing any other bookish sorts, she is probably listening to Troye Sivan, tweeting (@PrincessicaOB), or doing schoolwork [yes, although she hates it, she is quite responsible]. Feel free to chat with her on Twitter, Goodreads, Instagram or email her at princessiccaaaa[at]gmail[dot]com. Yes, two c’s and four a’s.

That’s it for this week! See you in two weeks with a new Novel Newcomers post featuring another blogger (or two or three). I can’t wait! 😉

  1. Thank you so much for having me, Nori! This was a really fun way to reflect on not only what I’ve achieved this past year but a great way to celebrate my blogiversary. MUCH LOVE FOR YA!
