This week’s topic is Top Ten Tuesday #83: Ten Books I Picked Up On A Whim!!!

1. The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
This one is actually a funny story. I was buying Sajda @ Across the Words a holiday present, and I decided to read the books before I gave them to her, and hide some cute sticky notes inside of it. It turned out that the book I gave to her, The Scorpio Races, is actually one of my all time favorite books. I never would have known otherwise! My review is HERE.

2. Whatever Life Throws at You by Julie Cross
I won an eARC of this one from Heather at Entangled Publishing and really enjoyed it! My review is HERE.

3. Duplicity by N.K. Traver
I was actually approached by St Martin’s Press for Duplicity and they asked if I wanted to join the blog tour for Duplicity. I looked it up on GR because I wasn’t familiar with it and it sounded good. I’m so thrilled I picked it up- my review is HERE.

4. Symptoms of Being Human by Jeff Garvin
Again, I was randomly approached by a publisher about joining the blog tour for this one. I’ve been really lucky with blog tour books!

5. The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner
Everyone kept raving about TSK so when I saw it at ALAMW, I had to pick it up. My review is coming soon! (It’s actually one of my favorite reviews I’ve ever written so I’m excited)

6. Please Don’t Tell by Laura Tims
Thrillers generally aren’t my thing, but after meeting Laura at ALAMW, I NEEDED to read her book. She’s such a sweetheart. And OMG THIS BOOK WAS SO DARK YET BEAUTIFUL! My review is HERE.

7. Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton
I found out about this one through my local indie that I just discovered a month or two ago!

8. Rules of Seduction by Jenna Mullins
I also won this book in a giveaway! It was one of my first NA’s and it was super cute. My review is HERE.

9. The Fixer (The Fixer #1) by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
I don’t even remember how I found out about this one. πŸ˜›

10.Β Finnikin of the Rock by Melina Marchetta
I hadn’t heard of this one until the book community started gushing about it. Also, yay for Jamie, my OTSP Secret Sister, who got it for me!

Do you have any of these books featured in your TTT this week? Have you read any of them? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. I have been meaning to read Whatever Life Throws At You FOR AGES! I definitely need to check out your review to see if it would inspire me to pick it up πŸ™‚
The Serpent King was INCREDIBLE and I think my review for it is one of my favorites too – that book made me feel so much and I hoped I was able to channel that to my review.

  2. What lovely books! I love how you got these! The Scorpio Races sounds like a real prize for you and your friend! Please Don’t Tell looks amazing.

One book that I just picked up without really looking into it was The Sleeping Giant. It was good but not great but the cover is lovely!

    My Top Ten

  3. “Please Don’t Tell” looks pretty intriguing. It would definitely be one that I’d scope out myself. “Rebel Sands is gorgeous”, and I’ve heard so many good things, but I haven’t gotten to it yet.

  4. Finnikin of the Rock <3 I absolutely adore that book and I have such a strong urge to re-read the book. Finnikin is basically my book husband haha. The story behind The Scorpio Races is so cute and it's definitely and epic book.

  5. This just proves to me even more that I have to check out The Scorpio Races! I’ve had that book for YEARS and still haven’t gotten around to reading it. Symptoms of Being Human sounds so awesome! I’ve been wanting to read that one since I first heard about it. Same with Please Don’t Tell!

  6. I am very excited for your review of The Serpent King, because it was definitely one of my favorite reads of 2016! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ SO GET ON IT
