REVIEW

I picked up Summer of Supernovas on a day where I needed a light contemporary that would make me smile. As the synopsis sounded awesome, and Darcy, the author, is super sweet, I really hoped that SOS (haha I love that acronym) would be great. I’m happy to report that not only did it make me smile, but it made me laugh!

SUMMER OF SUPERNOVAS starts with a countdown. The stars have told Wil that she will find her soulmate within 22days, and if not…she won’t find him for another 10 years. Ten years is a long time to wait, and Wil can feel the clock ticking. This countdown is what starts her epic adventure to find love, and to find herself.

Now, onto the story. IT WAS SO CUTE! It focused on Wil and her love *cough* obsession with astrology. You see, her mother passed away when Wil was young, and astrology was the one thing that they shared, so it’s very special to Wil. She makes just about all of her life decisions based on what the stars tell her, and she is scarily accurate at figuring out what Zodiac sign someone is.

I’m going to be blunt: Yes, there is a love triangle. Yes, it is between two brothers. And yes, I do recommend this book. This love triangle was a great example of a triangle done well. I really had no idea which boy Wil was going to pick, and I liked seeing her interact with both! Also, both of the choices (Grant and Seth) had flaws. Neither was perfect, and I really appreciated that. It allowed me to love the book and the romance.
I really enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it. I give it 4.5/5stars.
