Welcome to the Sunday Street Team!!! I am pleased to have Charlotte Huang as one of November’s featured authors.
I loved loved loved this book! From the moment that I heard about For the Record, I knew that I had to read it- immediately. Once I found out that ARCs were out in the wild, I sent in a request and was thrilled when I received it. If you like contemporary novels with music, bands, and romance mixed in, I highly recommend this book. As far as the romance goes, there was a love triangle, and there were some unexpected twists that happened near the end. I will not say more than that, but let’s just say that you’re in for a fun and surprising ride.
I am having trouble writing this review because it was too amazing to put into words, so I’m going to just feature a couple of my favorite quotes from the novel to wrap this review up. I loved this book and give it 5/5stars!
Here are a couple of quotes from the ARC version of For the Record:
Here’s the first thing I noticed: when Lucas Rivers wanted your attention, he got it. Beyond his well documented physical attributes, he had a way of locking in so that I felt like I was the only person in the club. As soon as our eyes met, everyone else slowly blurred out of my vision.
Is it just me or can you already feel the heat???
“Really?” Beckett persisted. “Talented, pretty girl like you? No boyfriend?”
“Believe it,” I said. “I learned my lesson the hard way. I once liked a guy and it ended in disaster.”
I knew that this was going to be an interesting book once I read this quote. After all, you can tell that Chelsea has spunk!
“Weren’t you on death’s door a couple of hours ago?” I asked.
“It’s amazing what Gatorade and Red Bull can do.”
I couldn’t stop laughing when I read this. Not sure why, but it just really stood out to me.
