Welcome to the Sunday Street Team!!! I am pleased to have Jessica Verdi as one of August’s featured authors.
What was the craziest real life experience that inspired a scene in What You Left Behind?
I’m not sure if this is the craziest, but it’s the one that immediately comes to mind. There’s a scene where Joni gets a tattoo of an elephant, and she explains to Ryden that her dad promised her when she was younger that if she still wanted to get a tattoo when she turned sixteen, he’d allow it. This was the very conversation I had with my own mother when I was around twelve years old, and she stuck to her word—I got my first tattoo at sixteen. 🙂 I also have a tattoo of an elephant, just like Joni.
