I must make a confession- I have had this book on my TBR list since last fall and never had a chance to read it until now! All that I can say is that I’m extremely glad that I finally got around to reading it, because I absolutely loved it! Let’s Get Lost reminded me of one of my all time favorite books- Carpe Diem by Autumn Cornwell. They both shared similar themes, which really affected me and my view on life.
First of all, let me admit that I loved each and every character in Let’s Get Lost. For those of you who don’t know, it includes five different point of views! I was a bit hesitant at first, but once I started reading, I realized that each and every story was completely different- amazing, yet different. There was only one thing, well, more like one person who connected all of the stories together, and that was Leila. I loved how Adi slowly introduced Leila to the reader- in the beginning, I knew nothing about her, except for the fact that she drove a very red car. That was it. But as the story progressed, and her journey continued, I started to learn more and more about her.
One of the main characters, Bree, talked about “seizing the day,” aka carpe diem. Maybe that’s one of the reasons why I loved this book so much- I use carpe diem as one of my personal mottos in order to help push myself to try new things and go on adventures! I don’t want to think back on my life and be filled with regrets. I want to think back on my life with a smile on my face, and realize that I seized the day as best as I could.
This book was a mixture of cutesy bantering, thrill-seeking actions, heart-breaking moments, sneaky motives, and love. Yes, Let’s Get Lost included all of these elements. I know, it’s crazy to think that they could all fit inside of one book, yet it’s true! I think that the easiest way to describe this book was that it was a feel-good book, with lots of cute moments, yet also allowed the reader to re-evaluate his/her life and realize what was truly important.
I really enjoyed this book and give it 5/5stars.
I challenge all of you to seize the day! Let me know in the comments below what happened the last time that YOU seized the day!
