This week’s topic is Top Ten Inspiring Quotes from Books!!!

This was a really difficult topic, because I have a ton of quotes that I love, but I had to limit myself to ten! I decided to include quotes that were inspirational, funny, and simply pretty!

Quote #1: Briar’s Book by Tamora Pierce

“Tris: “I was reading.”
Sandry: “You’re always reading. The only way people can ever talk to you is to interrupt.”
Tris: “Then maybe they shouldn’t talk to me.”

Quote #2: Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers

“People hear and see what they expect to hear and see.”

Quote #3: The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater

“There are moments that you’ll remember for the rest of your life and there are moments that you think you’ll remember for the rest of your life, and it’s not often they turn out to be the same moment.”

Quote #4: Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson

“Maybe she didn’t do something big. Maybe she just told someone something.”

Frank looked over at me, more serious now. “Like what?”

I shrugged. “Something they’d been needing to hear,” I said. I thought it over for a moment, then added, “I don’t think you have to do something so big to be brave. And it’s the little things that are harder anyway.”

Quote #5: The Summer of Chasing Mermaids by Sarah Ockler

“This boy wore the ocean in his eyes, green-gray-blue, ever shifting, and I recognized him immediately. Knew before he said another word that he was as dangerous as he was beautiful.”

Quote #6: Everything That Makes You by Moriah McStay

“It’s just… You sound like Lorde. But like, with maple syrup.”

Quote #7:  The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows

“I wasn’t concerned, but I was thinking that the fastest way to get your mind off him and on me would be to tell you something truly appalling about him.”

Quote #8: The Glass Arrow by Kristen Simmons

“I feel a strange sensation brewing inside of me. It tickles my throat and forces my lips into a grin. Before I can stifle it, I giggle. And then I laugh.”

Quote #9: Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson

“This felt like the way you get nervous right before something exciting happens-the moment when you’re balanced on the top of the roller coaster, the hush before the surprise party, the second after the diving board but before the water, when you can close your eyes and imagine, for just a second, that you’re flying. The feeling that good things were coming, almost here, any moment now.”

Quote #10: Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

“I will never submit again. I will never stop fighting”

  1. Awesome list!
LOVED Red Queen and Since You’ve Been Gone, they are both so inspiring and quoteable! Wish I remembered to include them on my list. Oh well. 🙂
Also, the quote from Briar’s Book is the best thing ever and i’m going to have to add that to my Goodreads now.
