Top Ten Tuesday #19: Top Ten Goals/Resolutions For 2015!!!

This meme is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

This week’s topic is Top Ten Goals/Resolutions For 2015!

I was very excited (and a bit nervous) about making this list since it was a list filled with words, not pictures! Then again, I am a blogger, I should be able to write words…right? Right? *insert sheepish laugh*

On that note, I would like to let you all know about some of my resolutions for 2015. Please feel free to comment below if you have any thoughts/questions/suggestions about my resolutions! I would love to hear them.

Number One: I REALLY want to complete my 105 Challenge.
For those of you who don’t know, I am actually hosting a 2015 Reading Challenge! It is called the 105 challenge and guess what? You have to read 105 books! But that’s not all- there is a twist. I have made 12 categories which I have to fulfill by reading different types of books. I am VERY excited, but also nervous for this challenge. After all, this year (2014) I read under 60 books. With that being said, I HAVE done it in the past. I have actually read over 3oo books in a year, so I know that I can do it!
If this is something that sounds interesting to you, I would LOVE for you to join me. Check out my post HERE for the rest of the information.

Number Two: I want to participate every month for “The Reader’s Lounge” book club.
Guess what? I have joined an online book club! While this may not sound like a shocker, it actually is. You see, I have never actually been in an official book club. So, I am very excited to see how it goes. Right now it’s a pretty small group, but if it sounds like something interesting to you, click HERE for more information.

Number Three: I want to reach 500 WordPress/email subscribers.
At the time of writing this post (December 26, 2014), I am currently at 174 subscribers. Since I started approximately five months ago, I am really hoping to stay around the same rate and/or gain even more followers next year! I love sharing bookish news with you all, and I thank you all for following me, even when my posts tend to ramble on and on. Kind of like this one. 😛

Number Four: I want to be accepted for my first print ARC.
So far, I have only requested three print ARC’s, but I was declined for all three. 🙁 Even though I’ve been declined so far, I’m not giving up! I really hope that 2015 will be the year when I am finally accepted for a print ARC. *fingers crossed*

Number Five: I want to go to BEA and Bookcon!
I have been planning on going the past couple of years, but something has always come up. This year, I am making a vow to actually go! I bought the tickets and everything. Are any of you going? Let me know!

Number Six: I want to reach 1500+ followers on Twitter!
Oh Twitter, how I love you! Honestly, Twitter has been AMAZING for helping me reach out to the book community. I have become friends with a ton of people. I am hoping to keep all of the friendships that I have gained this year, and also meet some new people!
***Shoutout time for new friends I met on Twitter!***

Helena @ Book Nerds Addicts, Jacquelyn @ Ya Bookmark, Brittany @ Please Feed the Bookworm, Rachel @ A Perfection Called Books, Alexia @ Adventures in Reading, Maria @ In Love with Handmade, Kaitlin @ Reading is my Treasure, Kierra @ Word Mineur, Jackie @ Jackie’s Book Shenanigans, and EVERYONE ELSE! I feel like I am forgetting a ton of people.
***Now shoutout time for old friends who I have kept in touch with through Twitter!***
Sajda @ Across The Words and  Grace @ Grace Books of Love!

I bet you forgot that there were still more resolutions to come…didn’t you? 😉

Number Seven: I want to start commenting more on other blogs!
Helena @ Book Nerds Addicts actually gave me a great idea for this. Her idea was to immediately comment back on other people’s blogs when I receive an email. It is simple, easy, and perfect! I love the idea. Hopefully I will be able to make it work.

Number Eight: Read more NON review books!
When I started blogging, I never would have thought that I would have too many books to read and review! Yet, here I am, buried under a pile of books that need to be reviewed, while my other books look longingly at me from the other side of the room. I am determined to read more of my non-review books this year. I’m not sure whether I can do 50-50, but I would love to get really close!

Number Nine: Start my Sunday Street Team idea!
I have talked to a couple of bloggers and authors about this already, but it was a long time ago. I have this idea for something that would be a hybrid of a blog tour and a book meme, but I am still working on the details. I am really hoping to get it up and running at some point in 2015.

Number Ten: Oh my goodness. Am I ready to reveal this? Am I? I guess…I guess it’s time.
I am shaking with anticipating as I write this. Okay, deep breath in and out, in and out. I am very excited to announce that I will be putting together a book event for the summer of 2015. I am currently trying to finalize the location and venue, so I can’t give you too many other details just yet. All that I will say is that it’s going to be AMAZING and you all should plan to come (if you’re able to come!) I will also be hosting a book drive concurrent to the event, which will benefit a local low-income school that doesn’t have enough money for a good library system. Now that I have this secret out to the world, it is 100% going to happen. It has to happen! 🙂

Well there you go! These are my ten resolutions for 2015. I really really really hope that I am able to accomplish them all.

I hope that this post helped you to see my goals for the future, as well as my personality. I know that this post was a bit ramble-y, and there weren’t any pictures to break it up, so if you have gotten this far and read the whole post, THANK YOU.

Thank you again to everyone reading this! Whether you’re a subscriber to my blog, or just a reader passing by, thank you. YOU are the reason why I am blogging.

I hope that you all have a great last couple of days for 2014, and have a great start to the New Year! On that note, I’m finally going to wrap this blog post up.

Goodbye for now,

~Nori

  1. I’d just logged off for the night when an email came through on my phone saying you’d posted. Glad I turned back on and dropped by. I didn’t realize YOU were hosting the 105 challenge. I have no doubt that you’ll do it, you certainly read enough! I’m excited for you with all your plans and, believe me, if you were ever to have an event here in the UK, I’d come 🙂 I wish you the very best for 2015!!

  2. Excellent resolutions! I hope your book event goes really well. I’m sure it will be loads of fun and book drives are always great ideas. Power to you girl! I like the idea of being accepted for a print ARC. I never would have thought of that one. I haven’t requested any yet and don’t even know how you do it, but that would be cool! I hope you get one. 🙂

  3. I loved readings your goals! I am also hoping to comment more. I am going to try super hard because so many people have lovely blogs but I never comment! Also, thanks for that shoutout! ?? I am super happy that we met this past year and I am hoping to actually meet you at this book event you are hosting which is so cool! Good luck! ?

    • Thank you so much! I feel your pain- I rarely ever comment and always feel really badly about it. Hopefully we will both be able to start commenting more. I really hope that we can meet in the nearby future as well. 🙂

  4. Omg, you’re so adorable! I hope my tip helps you on keeping up with commenting. It has help me a lot. I’m so thankful for twitter. Without it I would of never meet you.? I love all your resolutions, especially. The book drive Nori, it’s amazing what you are doing. Just let me know the details and I’ll make sure to donate. Hopefully more bloggers will take a note from you. I wish you the best in the New Year. Happy reading xoxo

    • Haha thank you, thank you kindly. I do really like your tip, and I definitely will start using it (once I catch up from the million comments I have during my week of vacation).

I will absolutely let you know when I have the full details for the book drive. Thank you so much for saying that you’ll donate!

      Happy New Year. <3

  5. Aww thanks for the shout-out! 😉 Don’t be discouraged about arcs, it takes some time and hardwork put into the blog. You’ll reach it in no time! Commenting back is fun, just don’t get too behind in it. I was behind by 500 comments two weeks ago. (Yay for break!) I hope I get to see you at this event (Let’s hope I can go!) I want to go to BEA too!! SO BAD. Nice goals, I’m sure you’ll do lots of them!! 🙂

Rachel @ A Perfection Called Books

    • My pleasure <3
I really hope that you are able to make the event, the Philly meet up, and BEA! It would be great to finally meet you in person. 🙂
Haha I am very behind on commenting back…that's what happens when you go away for a week without internet access. 😛

  6. Thank you so much for the shout-out! I loved getting to know you this year and I can’t wait to see you again during BEA.

I hope you’re enjoying your break and Happy New Year =D

  7. First of all, YAY for goals and resolutions! I’m so happy to be taking part of you challenge since it’s a fantastic idea! Also, happy to have you as part of the Readers Lounge, cannot wait to start reading and discussing books with you!

AND BEA!! We MUST meet at BEA!! Thank yoooouuuu for the shout out!! Also, feel free to call me Pili, it’s my preferred nickname/short name for my name since I very rarely use Maria! 😉

And wow, starting a meme AND organizing a book event??? Awesomeness!!! You rock lady!
    Happy 2015!!!

    • Goals and resolutions are very fun, I definitely agree! *fingers crossed* that we will both be able to complete our goals!

We definitely must find time to meet at BEA! I can’t wait- there are so many people to meet, and so little time to do it! And okay, I will call you Pili. 🙂 I wasn’t sure but now I know.

I really hope that I will be able to start the meme and organize the book event. *cues nervous chuckle* Hopefully… 😛

  8. I like the idea of these! I also comment back on the persons blog when I get the email because if I let the pile up I get so tired of it >< I hope all this organizing goes well, and that you can do a readers challenge! Usually I multi-read books, so I always try to be reading one non-review one at the same time!

    • Thank you! Yeah, it gets very annoying when the amount of comments to respond to get extremely high. D:

I generally multi-read as well, but I can’t always read one review and one non-review. I have too many ARC’s!
