Please note: I received an ARC for this book from the publisher, Entangled Teen. This review reflects my honest opinion.

Whatever Life Throws at You was different than any other book that I’ve read. The easiest way that I can describe the plot is that it’s a twist on the good girl and bad boy story. The main character, Annie, is the daughter of a pitching coach. She is a sweet girl, but she isn’t one of the typical straight A students that you normally see in good girl books. Instead, she gets some C’s and D’s.

The bad boy of this story is Brody. He’s a 19 year old rookie baseball pitcher who gets a chance to pitch for the big leagues because of Annie’s dad. But there is more to Brody than baseball. According to Johnson, the baseball team’s owner, Brody is also an ex-convict.

As the story progresses, Annie and Brody start feeling attracted towards each other. I really liked the fact that they both respected each other, even though they were very different. I guess that the saying ‘opposites attract’ is true! Throughout the book, there was definitely romance, and some mature content.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed Whatever Life Throws at You. Was there a standout part that made this book absolutely amazing? No, there really wasn’t. Despite the lack of a WOW scene, it is definitely a book that I would recommend and probably re-read.

I would give this book 4.5/5 stars.
